Russia expecting U.S. to support allegations of pending chemical attack in Syria with real evidence - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Moscow is expecting the U.S. to confirm via diplomatic channels the alleged preparations of Damascus to launch a chemical attack in Idlib, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press conference on Friday.

"We have tangible proof of terrorists' preparations for a chemical attack, and we have supported our words with actual materials. If the United States has visible evidence pertaining to their concerns, they could present it to us, for instance, via bilateral channels," Zakharova said.

Interfax has asked Zakharova to comment on a statement by the U.S. Special Representative for Syria Engagement, Ambassador James Jeffrey, that Washington had visible evidence of Damascus' preparations for a chemical attack in Idlib.
