TEHRAN. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Iran will retain its presence in Syria based on relevant agreements with Damascus, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Friday.
"Iran is present in Syria at the request of that country's legitimate government for the purpose of counterterrorism. And the question of our further presence in Syria will be decided based on this principle," Rouhani said at an "Astana-format" summit in Tehran.
