MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - All possible conditions for the Syrians to begin discussing the future of their country independently have been created in Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Nevertheless, the successful implementation of our agreements enabled serious progress on the political track of the settlement," he said prior to the beginning of a trilateral meeting on Syria with participation of the leaders of Iran and Turkey.
"Specific steps in the intra-Syrian reconciliation have been taken, first and foremost, on the ground. It can be stated with confidence that all conditions for the Syrians to begin determining the future for the country independently have been created," Putin said.
