No Idlib civilians should be harmed in fight against terrorists - Rouhani (Part 2)

TEHRAN. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The fight against terrorists in the Syrian governorate of Idlib is an integral part of the achievement of peace in Syria, but civilians should not be harmed in it, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

"The fight against terrorism is a common international requirement. But when the fight [against terrorism] takes place in a certain recognized country without this country's open consent and invitation, no one has the right to interfere in these affairs," Rouhani said at a meeting between the heads of Russia, Turkey and Iran on Friday.

"The fight against terrorism in Idlib is an integral part of the mission to restore peace and stability in Syria. But civilians should not be harmed in this fight," Rouhani said regarding the situation in Idlib.

"We all are fighting for peace together and a war for the sake of a war is an approach of only terrorist regimes and terrorist groups," he said.

"A serious fight against terrorism is inevitable in order to achieve lasting peace," Rouhani said.
