Armenian PM ready to discuss Karabakh settlement options

YEREVAN. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Yerevan is open to discussing ways to settle the Karabakh conflict, provided Baku makes relevant efforts, but for now the Armenian people should be ready for war as well, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"We are ready to launch a crushing strike to any provocation from Azerbaijan. But we are also ready for a serious discussion of the ways and possibilities to settle the Karabakh conflict. There is an important precondition for that: a [conflict] settlement is possible if there is an atmosphere of settlement in the region and the parties show with their positions that they are ready to make serious efforts towards a settlement, " Pashinyan said in an interview with the Zinuzh (Military force) program of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

"Unfortunately, Azerbaijan's position shows that its idea of a resolution is war. It means that all our people should be ready for a counterstrike," Pashinyan said.
