MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - There are indications of a breach by the United States of the Biological Weapons Convention, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday, commenting on the documents on the U.S. military-biological program published by Georgia's former state security minister Igor Giorgadze.
"The outrageous facts and documents that have been published contain indications of serious breaches by the United States of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction ratified by the U.S. in 1972," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report.
"All documents published on Igor Giorgadze's site are now being studied by relevant Russian Defense Ministry experts. The results of this analysis will be provided to the Russian and international public," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Earlier this week, Georgia's former state security minister Igor Giorgadze said that dangerous bacteria and viruses may be produced in a laboratory operating not far from Tbilisi under the aegis of the U.S.
