Demilitarized area 15-20 km deep to be created in Idlib region by Oct 15 - Putin following talks with Erdogan (Part 2)

SOCHI. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said following talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the two have agreed to set up a demilitarized area in the Idlib region.

"We thoroughly discussed this situation at our meeting and came to a conclusion, decided to create a demilitarized area 15-20 kilometers deep along the contact line between the armed opposition and the government forces by October 15," Putin said at a press conference.

In addition, there are plans to remove radical militants, including members of Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia), from the demilitarized area, he said.
