Russian plane downed over Syria was in full working order - Il company

MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Ilyusin Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft, which was downed over the Mediterranean Sea, had undergone an overhaul seven years before and was in full working order at the time of the incident, the Ilyushin company's press service said on Tuesday.

"The Il company informs that the Russian Defense Ministry's Il-20, downed in Syria's airspace, underwent its last overhaul in 2011, was in full working order and could have stayed operational until 2021 at the very least," it said.
