Russian bombers deployed to Kyrgyzstan for Issyk-Kul Anti-terror 2018 drill

YEKATERINBURG. Sept 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Sukhoi Su-24M frontline bombers have been deployed to Kyrgyzstan for the CIS exercise Issyk-Kul Anti-terror 2018, the press service of the Central Military District said on Wednesday.

"Six Sukhoi Su-24M frontline bombers have covered a distance of about 2,000 kilometers from the Shagol airbase in the Southern Urals to the Kant airfield," the press service said.

The pilots will practice strikes on training camps, bases, and routes of simulated illegal armed units.

The drill Issyk-Kul Anti-terror 2018 will be held at the Edelweiss training center in Kyrgyzstan on September 24-26.
