MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - The Russian Military-Industrial Commission will endorse a candidate for the post of general designer of strategic systems with liquid-fueled intercontinental missiles at its meeting on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We are going to finish this work today and consider a candidate to be entrusted with the duties of the general designer, whose job will be to oversee the development of strategic missile systems with liquid-fueled intercontinental missiles," Putin said at the commission's meeting on Wednesday.

The Military-Industrial Commission's board approved 21 projects for construction of new, technically complex weapons under the supervision of general designers on April 9, 2015, he said.

"Twenty candidacies have now been endorsed," Putin said.

The Military-Industrial Commission will also discuss "the continued modernization of the army and the navy, the construction of advanced types of weapons and military hardware, and the development and strengthening of defense industry organizations," he said.
