MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The deployment of more U.S. troops in Europe on a permanent basis would not help resolve the existing problem of terrorism but would only heighten military-political tension on the continent, chief of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov said.
"It is possible that the U.S. might deploy an armor brigade in Europe and company tactical groups in the Baltic states on a permanent basis," Sidorov said.
"Certainly, such measures will not help resolve the problems of terrorism and illegal migration, which are truly relevant to the European continent, but would only heighten military-political tension and degradation of the international system of control of arms and military activities," he said.
