Naryshkin: young people choosing intelligence service as their occupation will never regret it

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin has said that he regards work for intelligence the most masculine occupation.

"The young people who have chosen this occupation will never regret it because they have chosen the most masculine occupation," Naryshkin said on a show dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Foreign Intelligence Academy on Zvezda TV channel.

"The past 80 years of the operation of this educational institution indicate that the training of foreign intelligence service officers is changing. It should change in accordance with the requirements of time, the threats appearing in the world and technological revolutions that are taking place," Naryshkin said.

"In 20 years new things and subjects will appear that will be taught at the academy," he said.

Previously head of the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Ivanov said that the history of the Foreign Intelligence Academy started on October 3, 1938 when a decree was issued on the establishment of a special intelligence educational institution - the Special Purpose School. He said that along with special and general subjects "much attention was paid to the study of foreign languages, good manners and the diplomatic etiquette; good taste and knack for dressing elegantly were inculcated."
