Ryabkov expects new waves of U.S. accusations (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Washington will not be satisfied with one story revealed earlier on Thursday that accuses Russians, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"Our American colleagues, and colleagues in other countries who are sharing the current wave of accusations against Russia, will not stop at that: new outbursts will follow," Ryabkov said, responding to a question posed by Interfax.

This will be happening "with a certain periodicity to keep the topic hot," he said.

"They've gone off the rails, they've completely lost the sense of measure, the sense of normality. They are not stopping, they are saying their anti-Russian heresy absolutely with no brakes, no limits whatsoever," Ryabkov said.

At no point has Russia received any form of explanation from Washington "to these endless accusations against Russia and against Russian citizens regardless of their profession, of their affiliation with this or other organization.

"No matter if they are private business people or travel as tourists, everything is lumped together into one heap. This is an intentional, deliberate attempt to speculate on a particular subject and to exploit it for a subsequent entrenchment in the public consciousness, primarily in Western countries, of the enemy image in which Russia is being consistently portrayed," Ryabkov said.

On Thursday the U.S. Department of Justice accused seven Russians of working for military intelligence by collecting data in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. According to the department, the group carried out hacker attacks between December 2014 and May 2018.
