BAKU. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Talks over the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict will be solely between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
"The format of settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict remains invariable. These talks have been held between Azerbaijan and Armenia and should remain so," Aliyev said on Tuesday at a cabinet meeting which focused on socio-economic results of January-September 2018.
Armenia tried but failed to change this format, he said. "Yet again this is evidenced by two meetings held between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Recent and other events also demonstrate that the negotiating format remains invariable, this conflict should find its solution in accordance with international law soon," Aliyev said.
The conflict should be settled within Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, he said. "The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is non-negotiable, never was and never will be," Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan's principled position on the conflict's settlement remains invariable, he said. "I hope the new Armenian leadership will demonstrate constructivism in its politics and soon our lands will be freed from occupiers," Aliyev said.
