BISHKEK. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan pays great attention to security and counterterrorism issues, the Director of the Executive Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS), Yevgeny Sysoyev, said at the Thursday meeting of the RATS Council in Bishkek.
"The fact that today's meeting is taking place here underscores the huge significance and attention given by Kyrgyzstan to security issues and the prevention of international terrorism," Sysoyev said.
"Over the past year, we have been working with the solid guidance of Kyrgyzstan. Our Kyrgyz colleagues chaired all the meetings of legal and technical [...] cyber security experts. I am sincerely grateful for their professional, skilled, and precise diplomatic approach," he said.
The work done under Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship will contribute to "universal security, stability, and peace," Sysoyev said.
