DONETSK. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Integrating into Russia, fighting corruption, and economic development are the three priorities of the new government and leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), according to its newly elected leader Denis Pushilin.
"The elections [on November 11] proved that the DPR is a valid state. For me, it was a great honor to be elected the head of the DPR. An honor and a responsibility. I will do my utmost to live up to these expectations. Work will continue in three key areas: integration into Russia, the fight against corruption, and economic development," Pushilin said.
All legislation passed by the People's Council will be checked for corruption risks, he said.
The DPR will also continue its cooperation with the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, Pushilin said.
"This is a process of removing barriers to movement between our republics and doing business. It also involves agreeing on processes in the military sphere," he said.
