ROME. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is holding a bilateral meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Friday evening.
The talks are underway behind closed doors on the sidelines of the Rome Med - Mediterranean Dialogues forum in Rome.
De Mistura will leave the office of the UN special envoy for Syria probably by the end of the year. UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said on Monday that he was unaware of until what date de Mistura stays in office and the date of his successor Geir Pedersen taking the office, but the most important thing is that there will be no pause between their work.
