BABINA FIRING RANGE (India). Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Servicemen of Russia's Eastern Military District and the Indian Armed Forces have opened the first stage of the active phase of the Indra-2018 bilateral exercise in India's Uttar Pradesh state, the Russian military district's press service said on Saturday.
"The commanders of the Russian and Indian contingents drew up a joint action plan, determined the sequence of the tasks and specified them on the maps and the terrain board. After receiving an order to launch practical actions, the units of the two countries were provided with weapons, loaded their military hardware [onto vehicles] and reached the designated district," the press service said.
The Indra-2018 drill involves 250 servicemen of a motorized rifle unit of the Eastern Military District's Combined-Arms Army and 250 servicemen of the 31st tank division of the Indian Armed Forces, it said. During the maneuvers, the Russian soldiers are using armored vehicles provided to them by the Indian side.
