MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - There is no need for pacification in the Kerch Strait, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday in response to Interfax's request for comment on U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's mediation proposal.
"The situation does not require pacification. Pacification was accomplished yesterday, when our border guards pacified the violators of Russia's state border," Peskov said.
"The usual procedure for the passage of vessels and military ships" through the Kerch Strait is in effect, he said.
"In fact, this procedure has been repeatedly followed by Ukrainian vessels and military ships. There is a certain regime of communication during passage, and it does not present any problems. There is nothing to pacify," Peskov said.
