Pacific Fleet ships visiting Singapore

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet is visiting Singapore's Changi Naval Base as part of a long-distance voyage, the fleet's press service said on Tuesday.

"The Russian ships were welcomed at the base's pier zone. A joint meeting on issues related to logistics and technical support for the ships' anchorage is planned for later today," the press service said.

The group includes the Varyag missile cruiser, the Admiral Panteleyev destroyer, and the Boris Butoma tanker.

Russian Ambassador to Singapore Andrei Tatarinov will visit the ships on Tuesday. Later, the group's commanders "will pay courtesy visits to the commander of the Singapore Navy and the mayor," the press service said.

The Russian ships will end their visit on December 2.
