KHABAROVSK. Nov 27 (Interfax) - More than 160 combat readiness checks have been carried out by units of Russia's Eastern Military District (EMD) this year, and the plan of inspections has been 100% fulfilled, the EMD said on Tuesday.
"The intensity of inspections has increased 50% compared with last year. They were held in accordance with the plans of central military control bodies, the district commander and his deputies, and the commanders of combined-arms teams," the EMD said.
The checks involved mechanized infantry, engineering forces, and signal corps, electronic warfare, and air defense and army aviation specialists.
"The monitoring measures revealed a high level of skill among the district's servicemen and indicated that the troops of the Eastern Military District are ready to accomplish any combat training tasks," the EMD said.
