Ukraine bars 80 Russians from entering in past 24 hours

KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax) - A total of 150 foreign citizens and stateless persons, including 80 citizens of Russia, have been denied entry to Ukraine in the past 24 hours, according to Andriy Demchenko, the head of the Ukrainian State Border Service's public relations department.

"About 150 foreigners were denied entry in Ukraine over the past 24 hours. Some of them were potential illegal migrants, and some lacked documents required to cross the border. About 80 of those 150 persons were Russian citizens," Demchenko told Interfax on Wednesday.

Most of the Russian citizens who were denied entry were unable to confirm the purpose of their visit to Ukraine, while others did not have the proper documents, Demchenko said. "Some were barred from entering Ukraine due to their earlier illegal visits to the temporarily occupied territories," he said.
