Russian Defense Ministry to send specialists to Deir ez-Zor province to monitor situation over ISIL's plans to use chemical weapons

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian military are sending specialists to the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor after receiving intelligence that militants from ISIL (a terror group banned in Russia) are planning to use chemical weapons.

"The command of the Russian military group in Syria has arranged for monitoring of the situation in the Deir ez-Zor province," the defense ministry said in a statement.

"For timely detection of the risk of civilian poisoning with chemical substances, a mobile radiation, chemical and biological intelligence complex with Russian specialists will be sent to Deir ez-Zor province," the ministry said.
