MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - By deciding not to meet with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Argentina, the United States' President Donald Trump missed his chance to discuss important issues and demonstrate the independence of his foreign-policy course, according to Konstantin Kosachyov, head of the Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee.
"However, it is wrong to think that Russia needs this meeting more, because contentious issues, including such high-profile incidents at sea, should be clarified precisely at such face-to-face meetings. So the refusal from a meeting is a missed chance - not for Putin, but for Trump - to discuss contentious topics and demonstrate the independence of his foreign-policy course. It appears now that there will be neither, and one can only regret it. No more," Kosachyov wrote in his Facebook page.
