Moscow not to mirror Ukrainian restrictions on male travelers - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Moscow will not respond in kind to Ukraine's entry ban for male Russian citizens aged 16-60, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Speaking of Ukraine, actually not the country itself but the ruling regime, it is terrifying even to talk about a mirrored response, because an attempt to mirror what is happening in Kyiv could lead to insanity. It could simply lead to collapse, nationally speaking," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Friday.

"The somersaults we are witnessing in Kyiv and, unfortunately, throughout Ukraine, demonstrate the complete dysfunction of the state system, resulting from the movements of the national administration, which are wild - you can't even call them poorly thought-through," Zakharova said.

"As for this decision [the travel ban], my comment fits into what I have already said," she said.

The Ukrainian State Border Service has tightened restrictions for arriving foreigners, above all male Russian citizens aged 16-60, according to agency head Petro Tsygykal.
