KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Restricted travel to Donbas, which does not affect Ukrainian citizens, has been introduced at checkpoints following the introduction of the legal regime of martial law in several Ukrainian regions.
The travel for foreigners and stateless people in particular is restricted to certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions outside Kyiv's control, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said on Facebook on Friday.
"Members of the UN and OSCE monitoring missions and the Red Cross mission will have the right of crossing the disengagement line. Decisions to allow other foreign citizens to enter the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine will be taken if they have relevant documents regarding their permanent residence on the occupied territory or the need to cross the disengagement line with the humanitarian purpose (funerals, a severe disease of the next of kin, and other issues)," the statement reads.
Units of the State Border Service, which are operating as part of the JFO, are on full combat alert, and all of the border checkpoints are still operating normally. "If the situation exacerbates in the area of motor passages in the border regions units are ready to actions and to fulfilling their missions in accordance with the decisions of the Joint Forces command," it said.
The Donetsk and Luhansk regions are among ten Ukrainian regions, where martial law is introduced from November 26 until December 26.
