Nuclear sub Severodvinsk fires Kalibr missile during exercise - Russia's Northern Fleet

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - The Russian Northern Fleet's multirole nuclear submarine Severodvinsk has successfully fired a shipborne Kalibr cruise missile, the Northern Fleet said on Tuesday.

"The combat exercise was carried out while the sub was on the surface at one of the Northern Fleet's training ranges in the Barents Sea. The missile was fired at the Chizha range in the Arkhangelsk region," it said.

The distance between the missile release line and the target was more than 700 kilometers, it said.

"Based on data recorders, the missile was fired with the planned accuracy, and all of its flight and technical parameters were confirmed," it said.
