Martial law necessitates update of status of 2 million Ukrainian labor migrants in Russia - ULIE president

KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax) - The declaration of martial law in ten Ukrainian regions on November 26 makes it necessary to update the status of Ukrainian labor migrants in Russia, Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) President Anatoly Kinakh said.

The status of Ukrainian labor migrants in Russia, whose numbers are estimated at 2 million to 2.5 million in international statistical reports, requires clarification and keen attention from the Ukrainian government, Kinakh said.

It is no less important to address "their monetary transfers to their home country," he said.

Kinakh was the Ukrainian prime minister in 2001-2002.
