MOSCOW. Dec 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The problem of the illegal presence of U.S. military bases in Syria is not being resolved, according to Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov.
"Amid the general stabilization in the Syrian Arab Republic, some problems have not been resolved, above all that of the unlawful presence of U.S. military bases in Syrian territory," Gerasimov said at a briefing for foreign military attaches.
Gerasimov referred to at-Tanf, where the United States has established a 55-kilometer "security zone." "Illegal armed formations are continuing their terrorist activity and sporadically attacking government forces" under the cover of this zone, he said.
