TEHRAN. Dec 10 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has called on the international community to pay attention to the disastrous situation of Syrians in the Syrian territories controlled by the Western coalition and expressed concern that it may result in a new wave of refugees.
"The disastrous situation of Syrian civilians in the territories controlled by the Western coalition is the most concerning," Volodin said at the second conference of parliamentary speakers from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, and Turkey.
"Delays in settling the humanitarian situation in Syria may result in the growth of the terrorist threat in the region and, consequently, a new flow of refugees," he said.
The liberation of the majority of Syria from terrorists was made possible only by the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Iran and Turkey, Volodin said.
"Today it is finally possible to speak of Syrians' return to their homes. To that end, it is necessary to restore normal living conditions on the Syrian soil: water supply, electricity, communications," he said.
