MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Two Tupolev Tu-160 Russian strategic bombers, an Antonov An-124 heavy military-transport aircraft, and an Ilyushin Il-62 long-haul aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces have flown from Russia to Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia, Venezuela, the information department of the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"The flight was performed in strict compliance with international rules of using airspace," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Russian military said that pilots of the Aerospace Forces had flown over 10,000 kilometers during that flight.
"The flight of aircraft of Long-Range Aviation was performed in airspace over the Atlantic Ocean, the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and the Caribbean Sea," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
