KYIV. Dec 10 (Interfax) - Officers of the National Guard, National Police, State Border Service and the State Emergency Situation Service are holding large-scale four-day special tactical drills outside Kyiv.
"Police officers will drill all possible scenarios of emergency situations for four days in order to timely react ad protect Ukrainian citizens from any danger. It is worth mentioning that all of the scenarios of the maneuvers are real events, which have taken place in our country over the past year, that is, the blockade on the border and highways, mining and other events," the press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on Monday.
A total of 1,165 personnel and 102 units of hardware joined the training. These are the most large-scale exercises of police units, according to the statement.
These drills are held once in four years, National Police chief Serhiy Kniazev said. "We did not meet in the past few years, because it was a time of developing all of our police units," Kniazev said.
Those units are practicing theoretical and practical issues of controlling the forces, and ensuring public safety in case of any emergency situations for four days, the statement reads.
