KHARKIV. Dec 10 (Interfax) - Ninety-three Russian citizens were denied entry to Ukraine's Kharkiv Region, including 23 last week, since martial law was introduced there, Commander of the Kharkiv border unit of the Ukrainian State Border Service Yevhen Hots said.
"Twenty-three Russian citizens were denied entry to Ukraine last week," Hots said at a press conference on Monday.
The passenger flow through checkpoints in the region fell roughly 30% year-on-year last week, he said.
An average of up to 500-600 Russian citizens, and up to 10,000 Ukrainian citizens are passing through the checkpoints every day, the press service of the Kharkiv border unit said.
Martial law was imposed in ten Ukrainian regions, which are situated along the border with Russia, Transdniestria and along the Black Sea coast. It is in effect from November 26 until December 26.
