Hole in Soyuz habitation module does not put crew at risk - Energia Corporation

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Sergei Prokopyev have examined the exterior of the International Space Station (ISS) and the habitation module of the Soyuz MS-09 spaceship, where a small hole was found; the hole does not put the crew at risk, the Energia Corporation said in a statement posted on its website.

"The hole has been found in the habitation module that will separate from the landing capsule soon after undocking from the ISS and will burn up in the atmosphere. When that happens, Sergei Prokopyev, Alexander Gerst, and Serena Aunon-Chancellor will be traveling in the landing capsule," the corporation said.

The spacewalk of Russian cosmonauts lasted for seven hours and 45 minutes, it said.
