Baltic Fleet commander becomes admiral - decree

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Alexander Nosatov, the commander of the Baltic Fleet, has been awarded the rank of admiral under a Russian presidential decree.

"Alexander Mikhailovich Nosatov is awarded the rank of admiral," the decree, which was published on the official website of legal information on Wednesday, reads.

With this decree, Russian President Vladimir Putin also awarded the rank of colonel-general to Yevgeny Ustinov, the chief of staff of the Central Military District.

The Baltic Fleet is an operative-strategic unit of the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea. Its main bases are Baltiysk in the Kaliningrad region and Kronshtadt in the Leningrad region.

The Central Military District comprises military units, establishments, and organizations in 29 regions of the Siberian, Urals, and Volga Federal Districts.
