MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Moscow is concerned about Israel's conducting a special operation in the West Bank near the Russian mission to the Palestinian National Authority, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary on Wednesday.
"On December 10, the Israeli armed forces invaded the C Area in the West Bank, which is full controlled by the Palestinian national administration, to conduct a special operation in the office of the WAFA Palestinian News Agency in Ramallah," the Foreign Ministry said.
"As a result of the actions of Israeli security forces, tear gas was sprayed in the direct vicinity of the Russian mission. Necessary measures were taken to protect the health of Russian diplomatic mission employees and their families," it said.
"The incident causes serious concern," it said.
"We are calling on Israel to calculate negative consequences for civilians, including possible threats to the health and security of foreign missions' employees when making decisions on conducting special operations," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
