MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The United States gave Russia no explanations regarding the so-called "suspension" of their obligations under the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty and it is unclear what Washington means by it, Deputy Foreign Ministry Sergei Ryabkov said.
The U.S. announced that in the absence of Russian concessions within 60 days, it will "suspend fulfillment of its obligations under the Treaty" and after another six months quit the treaty altogether, Ryabkov said in a commentary published on the ministry's website on Thursday.
"Indeed, a question arises: what exactly does the American side put into the notion of 'suspension'? The U.S. never gave us any explanation on this score. At the same time, it is obvious to specialists that there is really practically nothing to 'suspend' in the INF Treaty implementation."
