NEW DELHI. Dec 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow and Delhi are about to achieve agreements that are important for India's national security, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin told reporters on Thursday.
"In implementation of agreements achieved during the meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are negotiating on several important documents needed to ensure India's defense capability and national security," Fomin said following the meeting of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission on military-technical cooperation.
The meeting presided by the two countries' defense ministers, Sergei Shoigu and Nirmala Sitharaman, took place in New Delhi on Thursday.
"It was noted at the meeting that military-technical cooperation between India and Russia is a key element of the strategic partnership," Fomin said.
"The meeting participants outlined priority tasks in terms of strengthening bilateral military cooperation," he said.
