LPR claims to have shot down Ukrainian spy drone

LUHANSK. Dec 14 (Interfax) - The people's militia in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) have shot down a Ukrainian military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAC) which was conducting a reconnaissance near the village of Lohvynove in Donbas, the militia's head of department Mikhail Filiponenko said.

"Yesterday, at 2.40 p.m. people's militia servicemen shot down yet another Ukrainian Fanthom-type drone which was conducting a reconnaissance near the village of Lohvynove," Filiponenko told reporters on Friday.

"The Ukrainian command continues using UAVs for reconnaissance and artillery fire adjustment near the contact line, which is prohibited by the Minsk Agreements," he said.

This is already a third Ukrainian military drone downed by Donbas militias since the beginning of December, the militia said.

Earlier, LPR militia spokesman Yakov Osadchy said that on December 4 the militia shot down a Ukrainian attack drone heading towards Luhansk and on December 2 the militia shot down a Ukrainian military spy drone near the village of Zholobok.

Ukraine imposed martial law from November 26 until December 26 in ten Ukrainian regions, including Luhansk.
