Size of state defense order to be maintained for 3 years - deputy minister

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will maintain its current level of armament procurements for the next three years, according to Deputy Defense Minister Tatyana Shevtsova.

"For now, state defense orders are planned at this year's amounts. I mean the volume of the state defense orders and weapon procurement will remain at the 2018 level. There will be a slight decline in state defense orders placed with enterprises after 2021," Shevtsova said on Rossiya 24 (VGTRK) television.

The Defense Ministry spends half of its budget on the defense sector, she said.

"This is more than 1.5 trillion rubles," Shevtsova said.
