Forces to get 2 regimental sets of S-400 Triumf in 2019 - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Two regimental sets of the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile (SAM) system will enter service in the Russian Armed Forces in 2019, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The plan is to provide the Aerospace Forces, naval aviation, and the Navy's air defense troops with 143 new and upgraded aircraft, two regimental sets of the S-400 Triumf SAM system, a Vityaz SAM system, and seven division sets of the Pantsir combined-SAM-and-artillery weapon system," Shoigu said at the meeting of the Defense Ministry collegium on Tuesday.

There are also plans to provide "one brigade set of Iskander-M missile systems and two brigade sets of S-400V4 and Buk-M3 air defense missile systems to the Ground Forces, coastal units of the Navy, and the Airborne Forces," he said.
