MINSK. Dec 20 (Interfax) - OSCE Special Envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine Martin Sajdik has urged Russia and Ukraine to take efforts to improve bilateral relations to settle the Donbas crisis as soon as possible.
Sajdik told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday that the situation in the current crisis would be different and negotiators could have talked about more positive aspects. He added that Russia and Ukraine should take genuine efforts to improve bilateral relations.
Sajdik noted that it was necessary to improve these relations, but not to deteriorate them.
The special envoy said that Russia and Ukraine were the largest European countries; this is why, it was important precisely for these countries to take efforts to mend their relations.
