MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin says he agrees with U.S. President Donald Trump that heavy blows were dealt to ISIL (banned in Russia) in Syria.
"As for the victory over ISIL, I basically agree with the U.S. president. As I've said before, we have achieved a visible change in fighting terrorism in that territory and have dealt heavy blows to ISIL in Syria," Putin said at his annual press conference.
"There is a danger that these and similar groups will relocate to neighboring regions, Afghanistan, as well as other countries, their countries of origin, some of them are returning to where they came from. This is a big danger for all of us," Putin said.
