Putin: State prosecutors to legally assess Wagner PMC's actions (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office must give a legal assessment regarding possible violations in the activity of the Wagner Private Military Company, President Vladimir Putin said at his annual press conference on Thursday.

"As for Wagner and what these people are doing: everyone must comply with the law, period. We could prohibit any private security business, but as soon as we do that, I think you will receive lots of petitions demanding the protection of this labor market. If this Wagner Group is actually committing any violations, the Prosecutor General's Office must give a legal opinion," Putin said.

"As for their presence somewhere abroad, I repeat that unless they violate Russian law, they have the right to work and promote their business interests anywhere on the planet," he said.
