Russian fighter jet loses fuel tanks in outskirts of Yeysk

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - A Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter aircraft lost spare fuel tanks during a flight over the outskirts of Yeysk (Krasnodar Territory), a source in emergency services told Interfax on Thursday.

"An emergency ejection of additional fuel tanks occurred during this morning's MiG-29 flight in the outskirts of Yeysk. They fell down off Kommunisticheskaya Street in the industrial zone," the source said.

"No one was hurt," he said.

This could have been a naval aircraft, he said.

"The plane landed safely, no one was hurt," the source said.

Yeysk is a resort city and a sea part in southern Russia, on the Sea of Azov coast.
