KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian mission to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) has sent a letter to the OSCE proposing that the humanitarian subgroup hold a videoconference on December 27 to discuss Kyiv's new proposals on the release of captives in Donbas.
The OSCE has also been informed about the new initiatives.
"There has been a meeting involving the Ukrainian representative to the TCG [Yevhen Marchuk] and members of the humanitarian subgroup [experts of the Ukrainian Security Service and the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories]. A videoconference of the humanitarian subgroup was proposed for December 27 for the purpose of another discussion of the release of hostages and political prisoners. [...] We suggest that the captives be released in the 22-for-22 and 72-for-19 formats so that 150 people could celebrate Christmas at home and go to church together with their families to pray for peace," Ukraine's representative in the subgroup, Iryna Herashchenko, wrote in the letter, which was sent on Friday.
