KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax) - An agreement has been reached to declare a ceasefire in the combat area in Donbas starting from 12:01 a.m. on December 29, Yevhen Marchuk, Ukraine's authorized representative in the Trilateral Contact Group, said.
"Ukraine's proposal to introduce a ceasefire, which was made in the past session, was discussed. We suggested introducing a ceasefire, that is, a timeless ceasefire, starting from tomorrow night, to be exact, from 12:01 a.m. on December 29," Marchuk said on Pryamiy television on Thursday.
"There were also other proposals, to be brief, we have managed to reach this agreement today," he said.
Marchuk also said the ceasefire needs to be used to the maximal extent to rebuild the damaged vital infrastructure in eastern Ukraine.
