MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Foreign clients are keen on the Ratnik combat outfit, according to Albert Bakov, the General Director of the Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Building (TSNIITOCHMASH), an affiliate of the Rostec state corporation.
"Foreign clients are very enthusiastic about Ratnik. A number of countries are ready to buy our gear, especially as it can be used anywhere, from tropics to sub-Arctic areas," Bakov told Interfax in an interview on Wednesday.
He did not name the countries showing interest in Ratnik.
"You should ask Rosoboronexport about specific terms and geography of the supplies," Bakov said.
Dmitry Semizorov, the then-head of TSNIITOCHMASH, said in 2017 that Egypt was interested in buying the outfit. Interestingly, Egyptian servicemen used Ratnik during a joint drill with Russian paratroopers.
The delivery of the second-generation Ratnik outfit to the Russian ground, airborne, and marine forces began in 2016. Ratnik comprises armor, combat gear, firearms, and aiming and reconnaissance systems.
