MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Cooperation between Iran and Russia in Syria has made a significant input in the war on terrorism and the promotion of peace and security in that country, according to the Iranian foreign minister's assistant Hossein Jaberi Ansari.
"We can see that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation have been developing and broadening in various fields. Syria is just one of the areas where Iran and Russia have been cooperating, and they have achieved very important and useful results in the war on terrorism and the promotion of peace and security in that country," Ansari said at the beginning of his talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin.
"These consultations will address the changes evolving in the Syrian Arab Republic and Yemen, as well as various items on the regional and international agenda," Ansari said.
