MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - The military of the Central African Republic (CAR) warned journalists Orkhan Dzhemal, Krill Radchenko, and Alexander Rastorguyev that night driving might be dangerous, the Russian citizens ignored the warning, and got killed, Russian Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko said.
"The journalists departed from Bangui for Sibut on July 30, 2018, and reached the town on the same night. Central African servicemen who manned a checkpoint on the town outskirts offered them to stay for the night and warned them that night driving was dangerous," Petrenko told Interfax on Friday.
However, the Russians "said they did not have time and departed anyway," she said.
The three journalists were eventually found shot and killed, Petrenko added.
